Stagiaire Sales & Festivals – Best Friend Forever

Best Friend Forever is a Brussels based company focused on bringing to the international market carefully selected arthouse films. Our mission is to accompany brilliant producers and directors, either emerging or confirmed, into bringing their projects to reality through international sales, development financing, legal or financial consulting.

Launched in May 2019, the company worked on 20+ films, including animated ‘Perlimps’ by Alê Abreu (Annecy 2022), ‘Coma’ by Bertrand Bonello (Berlinale 2022), ‘Bloody Oranges’ by Jean- Christophe Meurisse (Cannes 2021), ‘Medusa’ by Anita Rocha da Silveira (Directors’ Fortnight 2021), ‘Mother Schmuckers’ by Lenny & Harpo Guit (Sundance 2021), ‘Souad’ by Ayten Amin (Cannes 2020, Berlinale & Tribeca 2021), ‘Los Conductos’ by Camilo Restrepo (Berlinale 2020 Best First Feature) or ‘Atlantis’ by Valentyn Vasyanovych (Venice 2020)…

Best Friend Forever is seeking for a bright, passionate, and organized Sales & Festivals Assistant Intern to join the boutique team. He or she will work closely with the festival manager and the partners on a daily basis.

Duties includes but are not limited to:

• Festivals fee negotiation, prospection and reporting
• DCP and Material delivery to festivals
• Organization and follow-up of talent travels
• Creation of the newsletters and participation to the marketing (line-up, posters, trailer…)
• Update of the website and other communication elements
• Assistance to the sales process closely with partners (links, follow-up…)
• Participation to the acquisitions

Qualifications for the role

• Strong Academic curriculum
• Strong cinephilia & interest to work in the cinema industry
• Fluent English written/spoken absolutely necessary, Dutch/Flemish a real plus, French a plus

Candidates must be strong cinephiles. They need to be able to prioritize and respond quickly, manage their time effectively, and possess strong, independent judgement. A pro-active problem solver with positive & friendly attitude. A true cinematic hero.
